Olusegun Mimiko, the Governor of Ondo state has left the Labour Party (LP) for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The news was confirmed by leaders of LP as well as chieftains of both parties, to reporters in Akure.
According to the Commissioner of Information for the state Kayode Akinmade, the move was due to the “serious pressure” from the leadership of the PDP before and after the Osun governorship election.
Vanguard
says Mimiko is still consulting with stakeholders across the country on
this move. “For now the governor is still in Labour Party even if he
will eventually move he cannot take a unilateral decision on this
matter.”. it states.
