Airtel Nigeria introduces Airtel SmartTrybe Tariff plan which then make users to enjoy Hourly Unlimited Night plan at N100 for 1HR and N200 for 2HRSThe hourly plan allows users to download unlimited files within the time period.

Well, it seems the Unlimited Hourly Night Plan is not favorable for Airtel NG as they scrap the Unlimited Hourly Night Plan and introduce another new data offer. Airtel NG have unleash 500MB for N25 and 1.5GB for N50 which valid for one single night at the Hour of 12 mid–night to 5AM.
Though, this new Airtel Night plan offer “500MB for N25 and 1.5GB for N50” looks cheap but you can never compare it to the former Hourly Unlimited Data which costs N100 for 1HR and N200 for 2HRS respectively.

UN accused of failing as north-east Nigeria at risk of famine

The UN has been accused of failing to act quickly enough to save hundreds of thousands of lives in northern Nigeria where a food crisis already killing hundreds of people a day is poised to become the most devastating in decades.
Nigerian authorities, who maintain tight control over humanitarian and media access to the region, have also been accused of deliberate negligence and attempting to conceal the scale of the crisis.
The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has categorised 4.4 million people in the Lake Chad region as “severely food insecure” – meaning they are in need of urgent food aid.
Toby Lanzer, UN assistant secretary general and OCHA’s regional humanitarian coordinator for the Sahel, said: “This is about as bad as it gets. There’s only one step worse and I’ve not come across that situation in 20 years of doing this work and that’s a famine.”
“We have to step in and quickly or we are going to have hundreds of thousands at risk of dying in the north-east of Nigeria.”

Ex militants beg Buhari to pay outstanding allowances

A group of ex-militants under the aegis of  National Coalition of Niger Delta Ex-Agitators (NCNDE-A) has asked President Buhari to approve the payment of the outstanding allowances owed them.

The group said the payment of the stipends will help most families feed in this harsh economic period.

The President of the group, Israel Akpodoro also said militancy will reduce in the Niger Delta if the outstanding allowances are paid.

Adding that the wrong impression of neglect the people of the Niger Delta have about the Federal Government will also be changed.

The Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) also called on the Federal Government to explain how the North East Development Commission (NEDC) will be funded.
