The
Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ) Students Week 2016 kicked off on
Monday in a spectacular way with various artists from the Nigerian
Music industry thrilling the audience beyond their expectations.
The Monday Show of the Students Week tagged ‘Carnival, concert and exhibition day’ kicked off with the Provost of the Institution, Barrister Gbemiga Ogunleye giving an opening speech, there after the carnival took center stage where students were seen with various costume walking around Ogba environs.
After this the concert commenced at about 3:25 pm with MC Savior taking full charge of the stage as Nigeria’s finest music stars displayed their artistry to the delight of the audience.
Notable among the Up and Coming stars that performed were: Ken, Koore Brown, New C, Starlight, Townsville, Moze, J brown, Best Slim Ever, Doyinsola, T4, Rashidi, Richie Bandz, Di Harra, YKC and a host of others.
Not only did musicians showcase their singing prowess but dancers too also thrilled the audience.
Notable among the dancers were : NIJ finest dancer Behro, The Generals, Fantastic 4 and a lot more.
Howbeit, the high point on the night was when NIJ finest and Mavin Superstar, Korede Bello took over the stage at about 9:15 pm.
The ‘Godwin’ crooner who came dressed in white t-shirt, black blazer and pants with red sneakers was shown a lot of love by the audience as he thrilled his fellow students by performing three songs.
The three songs he performed were: “Romantic” featuring Tiwa Savage, his hit single “Godwin” a semi-gospel and pop song and then “Mungo Park.”
After his performance and jokes with the student, he was carried by some students to his car, where he took photographs with some students before zooming off.
Meanwhile, Korede was not the only superstar on the night as the stage was also shared by HKN new signing Mayorkun as well as Dremo, Attitude, Genuiz, and a host of others.
