AFRIFF - Nollywood Stars Gear Up For The 4Th Africa International Film Festival

After just three editions, the highly acclaimed Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF) has become a reference point for notable film festivals of African origin, and the most recognised from Nigeria.
Nollywood fast-rising star, O.C. Ukeje said recently in Lagos, when asked about AFRIFF, “I was at the festival last year and it was loads of fun. The industry sessions were very informative and gave clear insights to a number of issues that we face as film practitioners. I am looking forward to attending this year’s festival so I can learn some more.”

For veteran actress, Kate Henshaw, the quality of films that were screened at the festival last year, are feats to look forward to. “I believe there is no doubt that AFRIFF is showing traits comparable to some festivals that have been in existence for several decades. I was so impressed by the strategic array of film entries screened at last year’s edition. They provide a genuine platform for African film makers to learn from one another,” she said.

Waka Flocka : US Rapper Busted For Gun Possession

Popular US rapper Waka Flocka has been arrested after a handgun was found in his hand loggage during a security scan at Atlanta's airport Friday afternoon.

According to the Atlanta police, the 28-year-old "Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta" star was taken because he never had a weapons permit and has been charged with wrongful possession of a weapon in a prohibited place.

Eventhough an initial court appearance was reportedly set for Saturday morning, Flocka was being held in the Clayton County jail longer than expected because it wasn't immediately clear if he had a lawyer.

Transportation Security Administration(TSA) spokesman Mark Howell told reporters that agents have found an estimated 1,600 guns so far this year in bags at airport security checkpoints nationwide.

It remains unclear if Flocka would be granted bail, but Howell also stated that the TSA can impose a fine of up to $11,000 depending on the infraction.

I mean... who carries a gun at any airport in this timeand age, especially when you are not in the military?
