AYO FAYOSE: I remain loyal to President Jonathan even after May 29 as my support for his re-election and administration was not about bread-and-butter

Press statement from Ekiti state governor...

It has become imperative once again to address the media on the constitutional and political crises being foisted on our dear State, Ekiti by irritants of unbridled ambitions, who are not only devoid of spirit of sportsmanship but implacable even when all odds are against them and roundly rejected by the good people of the state.
It is no longer news that I defeated an incumbent governor in all the 16 Local Government Areas in the State and that for the first time in the history of Nigeria, attempts were made to use the courts to prevent someone who clearly won a governorship election from assuming office.
Since June 21, 2014 that the All Progressives Congress (APC) suffered that humiliating defeat,  the party has suffered defeats in the entire local government areas in Ekiti State in four other elections, the latest being the House of Assembly election in which APC won no single seat out of the 26 seats.

Ekiti people have been persistent in their preference for me and my party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to correct the ills of the last four years and set the State on the path of greatness.

OVIE OMO-AGEGE OFFERED 3 MILLION U.S. DOLLARS AND MINISTERIAL APPOINTMENT TO WORK FOR APC AT THE DELTA CENTRAL SENATORIAL RERUN.

The senatorial candidate of the Labour Party for Delta Central Senatorial District, Obarisi Ovie Omo-Agege is rumoured to have been offered a whooping sum of 3million U.S dollars to abandon his ambition and work for the success of the APC in the rescheduled, Delta Central Senatorial rerun election. This development is said to be responsible for the reason, he is not campaigning at the moment. Observers has noticed that since the rerun was ordered, his campaigns has been foreclosed or comatosed. This issue is already generating political wrangle and altercation between him and Chief Great Ogboru who has been reliably informed. The self acclaimed "general" and leader of the Labour party in the state, is quoted to have vowed not to allow this conspiracy come to fruition. How he intends to stop the already concluded deal is a mystery that has not been disclosed. However ,Omo -Agege is reported not only to have accepted the offer, but accepted also to cross carpet to the APC after the election. The APC is on a last fight to grab something out of Delta. They are anchoring their chances on Omo-Agege, who is expected to provide them with evidence of malpractice by the PDP in the event of Amori clenching victory at the polls in preparation for the election tribunal. Inspite of this conspiracy, observers has opined that it will be impossible for the APC or Labour party to defeat the PDP in any contest in Delta State. PDP is well rooted in the state and no degree of conspiracy by confused elements can abrogate its apparent dominance. It is however reported that a motley of key actors in the Labour party have expressed their displeasure and willingness to join forces with the PDP over the present twist.

At a press conference in Lagos today April 21st, the founder of the group, Dr Frederick Fasheun warned that nobody has the monopoly of violence.
"While the Nigerian government and the rest of the world seek a diplomatic solution to this season of madness, the OPC hereby warns that South Africa must end this rash of xenophobia within 48 hours. These ill-advised attacks are capable of bringing out the beast in the best of men. And we will not watch as fellow Nigerians are wantonly killed in cold blood. Enough is enough. South Africans must know that nobody has a monopoly of violence. They must halt the killings, the maiming and the looting of foreigners’ shops in their country. These incidents of xenophobia will provoke reprisals against South Africans and their interests in other lands. Thus, beginning with the belligerent Zulu King, all South Africans involved in these attacks should be arrested immediately and prosecuted for crimes against humanity.”he said

Ousted Egyptian President Morsi sentenced to 20 years in prison in connection with protester deaths

Egyptian criminal court on Tuesday sentenced ousted Islamist President Mohammed Morsi to 20 years in prison on charges linked to the killing of protesters in 2012, the first verdict to be issued against the country's first freely elected leader.
The ruling, which can be appealed, and muted Islamist reaction following it underscore the dramatic downfall of Morsi and Egypt's once-powerful Muslim Brotherhood group. However, Morsi escaped receiving a death sentence in the case.
Morsi and the Brotherhood swiftly rose to power in elections after autocrat Hosni Mubarak's 2011 ouster, only to find themselves imprisoned a year later when millions protested against them for abusing power and the military overthrew the government.
But as Mubarak and members of his government increasingly find themselves acquitted of criminal charges, Morsi and the Brotherhood are at the receiving end of heavy-handed sentences.
Tuesday's verdict sparked no immediate street protests, reflecting the toll of a heavy security crackdown on any show of dissident -- either by Islamists or secular-leaning activists.

Chidima stuns in new photo

"Celebs not the Illuminati, they don't have that kind of power' - Kanye West

In an essay he wrote for Paper magazine, the same magazine that helped Kim K break the internet, Kanye West said he's tired of the notion that celebs are controlling society as members of the secret group, The Illuminati. He said celebs don't have that kind of power.
"I heard a comment -- a joke -- about the Tidal press conference being an Illuminati moment. If there was actually an Illuminati, it would be more like the energy companies. Not celebrities that gave their life to music and who are pinpointed as decoys for people who really run the world. I'm tired of people pinpointing musicians as the Illuminati. That's ridiculous. We don't run anything; we're celebrities. We're the face of brands. We have to compromise what we say in lyrics so we don't lose money on a contract. Madonna is in her 50s and gave everything she had to go up on an award show and get choked by her cape. She's judged for who she adopts. F**k all of this sensationalism. We gave you our lives. We gave you our hearts. We gave you our opinions!"

Korode Bello's invitation to sing at popular church attracts criticism

God Win crooner, Korede Bello’s invitation to sing at Harvesters International Christian Centre (HICC) has drawn criticism from US-based, Pastor Olusola Fabunmi.
The Mavin Records artiste was a special guest at the three services of the Lekki branch of the dynamic church under the leadership of its youthful shepherd, Pastor Bolaji Idowu.
With back-up vocals from the praise team, Korede Bello thrilled the youthful church audience with a live performance of his popular anthem, God Win. For a moment, his brief performance sent the auditorium into frenzy.
But Pastor Fabunmi is not thrilled by the artiste’s invitation to perform on a church alter. He quoted James 4:4, “Friendship with the world is enmity to God? Whosoever therefore will be friend of the world is enemy of God.”
“Korede Bello is a young man I love personally, and have nothing against him. But it’s written here, that when we chose the way of the world, we have clearly chosen our paths; becoming an enemy of God. Please, there must be a clearly defined boundaries of who sings, and /or ministers in churches. Some of the questions that comes to mind are; is he born again? Sanctified with the spirit of God and baptized in the Holy Spirit,” he said.

Governor Fashola Addresses Lagosians on April 11 elections

PUBLIC ADDRESS BY HIS EXCELLENCY, BABATUNDE RAJI FASHOLA, SAN TO LAGOSIANS ON THE APRIL 11 2015 GUBERNATORIAL ELECTIONS
Dear Lagosians,
First let me thank you all for turning out to vote on the 28th March 2015 and for doing so peacefully to make history by electing the All Progressives Congress candidates in the Presidential and National Assembly elections.

Once again, I must address you as we approach Saturday’s elections, when you will be electing a Governor who will continue after me and consolidate on the progress we have built together.

You will also be electing members of the State House of Assembly who will make laws on your behalf to assist the Governor and his team in the Executive arm.
Although your votes will be cast for one political party or the other, let me remind you that you will actually be voting for your wellbeing, security, prosperity and future.
You will also be voting for the future of your children. You will be choosing candidates and a party that you will entrust your lives to.
Think hard, think clearly, think deeply. Ask yourselves a few questions.
Who has shown a better record and example of protecting and securing you between the political parties?
Which of the parties cares more when disasters happen?
What is the record of the parties as it relates to the promises they have made to you in the past?
Which of the parties do you see regularly and which one do you see once in a while?
Which of the parties do you see when your life or property is threatened by epidemics like Ebola or by unfortunate accidents like plane crashes?
Which of the parties is showing that you can become home-owners without knowing anybody?
Which party has responsibility for providing electricity for you, and which one is taking up the responsibility to light up your streets and communities at night?
Which of them cares more about your children and their safety?
Indeed ask yourself; which of the parties threatened you with thugs on that sad Monday of March 16th and which is seeking to protect you by supporting the police; with patrol vehicles, fuel and other equipment?
Ask yourself when last you saw the Federal Fire Service in Lagos. The proud men and women of the Lagos State Fire Service have taken over admirably.
Ask yourself who should be supporting the police and who is actually doing it?
Dear Lagosians, your choice of who to vote for will be easy if you answer these questions within yourself honestly.
Indeed, you have clear choices to make between parties that use your resources to develop your society and community on the one hand, and the party that chooses to bring money to you for distribution when election beckons.
