SURE-P boss sacked for attending Obasanjo's birthday Party

According to reports by premium  times former SURE-P boss Gen. Martin Luther Agwai (rtd.) who was sacked some hours ago was sacked because he attended Obasanjo's birthday party last week.

Premium Times reports

Premium Times understands reliably that Mr. Agwai was fired for flouting a presidential instruction that no government official or member of the ruling PDP, should attend the birthday event of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, last week.

Sources within the presidency told Premium Times that all government functionaries were instructed by President Jonathan to boycott Mr. Obasanjo’s birthday event.

Our sources said when informed of the president’s warning, Mr. Agwai, who climbed to the pinnacle of his career under the Obasanjo administration, said he will go ahead and attend the function, more so, in view of the president’s directive. Our sources said for daring the president, it was clear Mr. Agwai would be fired.

Pop star/son of billionaire businessman, Davido woke up from sleep and started feeling as if he was in the moon.  Some school children going on an excursion to the mount Afadjato in Ghana lost their lives in an extremely horrible accident today March 10th. According to an eye-witness, the vehicle the children were in was almost finishing the mountainous portion when the driver lost control and fell into the ditch killing pupils between the ages of 7-15 years.

They were from Kasoa going towards Afadjato on an excursion.

Twin Bomb Blast Rock Market in Maiduguri

Two bomb blasts rocked a market and a nearby commercial street in Maiduguri on Tuesday. "There have been two blasts this afternoon, one targeting the fish section of the Monday Market and the other one at Gida Madara," said Abubakar Gamandi, who heads the fishermen’s union in Borno state.

The Monday Market was one of three sites targeted at the weekend in the bombings blamed on the Islamist militants. "Nobody is allowed close to the scenes of the blast," said Bukar Ali, who was also in the area when both explosions went off.

The causes of the explosions were not immediately clear but Boko Haram has repeatedly attacked Maiduguri through suicide attacks and by planting bombs in densely populated areas.

No licence and no LEGS, what could possibly be the problem officer? Double-amputee driver pulled over at the wheel of modified van in China

A street performer with no legs or driver's licence has been caught by police driving a van across a Chinese  highway. Remarkably, police caught Chen Shikuan driving the modified vehicle after seeing a sign stating it was a 'vehicle for disabled people'. Upon closer inspection, they discovered the double amputee had modified the pedals so they could be hand-controlled and he could drive without having to use his legs.

Shikuan was stopped at a toll gate in central China's Hubei Province after suspicious police officers noted the disability message inscribed on the number plates.

When questioned, Mr Shikuan explained he was once a lorry driver but lost his legs in an accident two years ago.

Deciding he did not want to become a beggar, he made a living as a street artist and travelled the country singing on the streets with his wife.

Officers gave him a warning but let him go after telling him not to drive on the highway again.

3yr Old eaten by Crocodile in Zimbabwe

3 year-old, Lubelihle Nyoni has been eaten by a crocodile on the banks of the Zambezi River in Hwange, northern Zimbabwe, MSN reports.The girl becomes the third person in her family, including her grandfather and uncle to be killed by a crocodile.Reports say Nyoni was playing with her 8-year-old friend Mawili Reno when the crocodile attacked.

According to eye witness and relative Margi Reno:

"I was doing something some few metres from the river when I heard screams before I lifted up my eyes and saw a big crocodile snatching Luba from the banks, where they were bathing. I froze for a moment as my mind could not comprehend what I had seen, but then I recovered and rushed to Mawili, who seemed frozen to the spot."This episode will be the third crocodile attack on juveniles reported in just over two months in Zimbabwe.

In February, a 17-year-old boy herding cattle was reportedly snatched by a crocodile in the Mutirikwi River in south-eastern Zimbabwe while a 16-year-old girl was taken by a crocodile in the Runde River, also in southern Zimbabwe, on New Year's Day.

Little Nyoni's body is yet to be recovered.

A fire incident earlier today caused by stored fuel/petrol has lead to death of a 2yr old. The victim happens to be the neighbor of the owner of the stored fuel/petrol, the said neighbor ran away after the incident. The incident occurred at Ibafo in Ogun state.

Rapper Flabba stabed to death, Girlfriend arrested

A woman has been arrested in South Africa for allegedly stabbing and killing a well-known local rapper. Nkululeko Habedi, known as Flabba, 38 died, in his home in Alexandra, a Johannesburg township. Police have told the BBC that his girlfriend will be charged with murder and will appear in court "within 48 hours".

Mr Habedi became popular after he joined award-winning rap group Skwatta Kamp.South Africans have taken to social media to send their condolences to his family and friends. Skwatta Kamp, founded in 1996, were seen as the pioneers of South African hip-hop, featuring local street slang and rhythms.The group had hits such as uMoya and Clap Song.

Rampaging Soldiers Kills Six Church Security Men in Kaduna

 

 Rampaging soldiers shot dead six church security men injuring three others in the process in front of St Peter's  Catholic church Gidan Waya area of Jama'a Local government Kaduna. Eye witness report below,

” It all started when a Soldier who has been in the area went to the Church’s watch men popularly known as Cadet and ordered them to dismantle the temporary check point during the Church service. The boys refused the Soldier’s order on the excuse that Church service was on and that they will do so as soon as service is over.
” But dissatisfied with the explanation, the Soldier went back and mobilised his other colleagues who came and started firing at the local guards killing six men.

“The gunshot automatically ended the church service. Women and youths immediately reacted to the shooting by confronting the soldiers and as a result one soldier and three other civilians got wounded,” said Christopher.

A check at the university by Citizens revealed that sexual harassment is a tradition in the university where students are forced to cough out between N4,000/N5,000 to pass each course or made themselves available for sexual gratification with the lecturers. Harrison Ford Involved In Plane Crash

US actor Harrison Ford has been injured in a small plane crash in Los Angeles.

The 72-year-old, star of the Indiana Jones and Star Wars films, reported engine failure and crash-landed his vintage plane on a Venice golf course.

He was breathing and alert when medics arrived and took him to hospital in a "fair to moderate" condition, a fire department spokesman said.

His son Ben, a chef in Los Angeles, later tweeted from the hospital: "Dad is OK. Battered but OK!
